Codex Vaticanus Graece 1209, B/03

Other observations:

  1. The bars: It might be interesting (but very time consuming) to do a study on the bars. The meaning is not very clear. They are not always used as paragraph markers.

  2. The colons: First mentioned (to my knowledge) in:
    "Die Evangelien eines alten Unzialcodex"
    Alfred Schmidtke, Leipzig 1903

This book describes minuscule 579. Schmidtke especially deals with the section system(s) which are more or less the same as in B/03. He writes on p. XXX about codex B:

"... Mk 10:16 wird durch 2 Punkte am Rande auf Mt 19:15 bezogen"
= "Mk 10:16 is referenced to Mt 19:15 by two dots in the margin"

With this he means the colon sign on p. 1292 C 1 L:
    colon on p. 1292

Schmidtke apparently tries to identify a synopsis system based on Mt. I think I have to read him again more carefully to understand what he means.
I have also noted these colon signs, which appear not very frequently all over the NT, but haven't catalogued them yet. Eventually I should do that?

  3. The cross at Acts 10: Page 1397 column A/B
This is about the middle of the NT! Unfortunately one cannot tell if this is original or has been inserted by the reinforcer. One cannot see any old traces so it is probably not old. Nevertheless interesting. Does such a cross appear in other MSS?

    Cross 1297

  4. 1404 A 15 L Filling Sign > at the end of line, not enhanced

  5. 1409 C 10 R Umlaut next to small X

  6. 1423 B 15 First Letter "I" not enhanced, with Diaresis!

  7. 1455 A 42 L small "+" sign
